She was predeceased by: her parents, John F. Rutledge and Pearl Pitts Tanner; her stepparents, Elmer W. Tanner and N. C. Rutledge; her sister Jeannette Smith; her brother-in-law Tommy Pilgrim; and her significant other James D. Terrell.
She is survived by: her children, Shelia Richards, Michael Rutledge and Lynn Gilliam; her grandchildren, Lathe Poole and Brandon Rutledge; and her sister Sue Pilgrim. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
