He was predeceased by : his parents, John Lewis Garner and Audrey Pruitt Garner; and his siblings, Teresa Jones, Marsha Brown, Pat Jones, Joel Garner and Johnny Garner.

He is survived by : his wife Renee Garner; his son Chad Garner (Elaine); his grandchildren, Trenton Garner and Trista Garner; his great grandchildren, Kopelyn Garner, Sadie Upton and Tatum Upton; and his siblings, Terry Garner (Janelle), Jimmy Garner and David Holcomb. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home (1000 N Main St, Cedartown, GA 30125). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
