He was predeceased by : his parents, Seaborn Smith and Oderine Coley Smith; his grandparents, James "Bum" Smith and Kate Smith; and his sister Margie Armitage.

He is survived by : his wife Runette Smith; his children, Christa Bishop (Jerry) and Phil Smith; his niece Donna Thomas (Tommy); his nephew Darren Armitage (Kim); his cousins, Sherry Morris, David Smith and Danny Smith; and his brother Tex Smith (Joan).

The family requests that flowers please be omitted, and memorial contributions be made to Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Melody McKay, 400 co Road 763, Piedmont, Alabama 36272.
