We are sad to announce that on April 6, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Don Grantham Whitener Sr. of Chatsworth, Georgia, born in Deridder, Louisiana. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Sam Whitener and Fred Whitener of Marshall, TX; and his sisters, Sammye Kempf of Marshall, TX and Becky Brasher of Plano, TX.. He is survived by : his children, Don Grantham Whitener Jr. (Grant) of Gainesville, GA, Meridith Ellington (Derek Ellington) of Chatsworth, GA and Jennifer Whitener Gallagher of Cumming, GA; his grandchildren, Taylor, Meagan Ellington, Corbin Whitener, Braden and Maddox Gallagher; his sister Sallye Allen (Forrest Dennison) of Victoria, TX; and his brother-in-law Bill Brasher of Plano, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Shawn Chapman Funeral Home (2362 US-76, Chatsworth, GA 30705). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Post 167 in honor of Don's memory, a place that meant so much to him.
