We announce the death of Linda Burton Stainton of Chatsworth, Georgia, born in Cleveland, Mississippi, who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 81. Linda will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Edwin "Eddie" LaFayette Stainton Jr.; her parents, Hugh Franklin Burton and Doris Marie Burton; her siblings, Jeanie Peeples, Sherry Carver, Ed Burton and William "Buddy" LaFayette Burton; and her son-in-law Nathan Gaddy.
She is survived by: her children, Shane (Kim Stainton), Chad (Tammy Stainton), Sebre Gaddy of Rocky Face, Georgia and Salter (Sabrina Stainton); her grandchildren, Cody, Taylor Stainton, Seth, Kelsey Stainton, Kendal, Alec Robbins, Jonathon, Jordan Olinger, Amelia Stainton, Kati Moore, Tori, Bryce Middlebrooks, Ali, Colton Lane, Brady Stainton, Laska, Erin Gaddy, Austin, Brooklyn Stainton, Hallie, Chris Wheeler and Irelynd Stainton; her sisters, Barbara Kendall of Chatsworth and Donna (Billy Moore); and her close friends, Noma and Bet Welch. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family, church family, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Peeples Funeral Home (208 S 3rd Ave, Chatsworth, GA 30705). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
