He was predeceased by : his parents, William C. Edwards and Frances Hayes Edwards; and his brothers, Billy, Arvin, Vernon and Kenneth Edwards.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Edwards; his daughters, Cyndi Edwards Townsend and Melissa Edwards Ridley; his grandchildren, Jason Townsend (Rachel), Jacob Townsend (Rachel Turner), Alex, Alli and Adam Ridley; his great grandchild Olivia Townsend; and his sister Wilma Haymes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
