He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Laney and Minnie Annie Heaton Laney; his wife Betty Laney; and his siblings, Irene Nix, Nettie Hooper, Roy Laney and Melvin Laney.
He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Laney (Rodger Poteet) and Gary Laney (Margo); his grandchildren, Josh Laney, Brad Bankston, Melanie Clark and Marriell Fonolleras; and his great grandchildren, Mason Bankston, Khloe Bankston and Kenidee Bankston. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
