He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clifford and Edith M. Dennis McElhaney; his wife Carolyn Imogene Hughes McElhaney; and his siblings, Louise Bell and Tommy McElhaney.
He is survived by: his sons, Bill McElhaney (Matt Williams) of Chickamauga, GA and Kevin McElhaney (Shannon) of Chickamauga, GA; and his granddaughters, Tori McElhaney of Duluth, GA, Katherine Grace Moore (Jackson) of Chickamauga, GA and Charlsie McElhaney of Chickamauga, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Wilson Funeral Homes - Chickamauga Chapel (215 Lee Ave, Chickamauga, GA 30707). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at 4068 GA-341, Chickamauga, GA 30707.
