He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carson Stokes Sr. and Jaunita Stokes; and his sisters, Connie Sue Stokes and Marlynn Davis. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Stokes; his son Wesley Stokes (Jessie Stokes); his grandchildren, Hannah Moore (Ryan Moore), Nathanuel Oxford, Jacob Denham, Isaac, Brylie and Levi Stokes; his great grandchildren, Silas and Raina Moore; his brother George Stokes (Sheri Stokes); and his nieces and nephews, J. C. Widener, Chad Stokes, Ryne Stokes and Connie Kelly.
