We are sad to announce that on December 8, 2025, at the age of 70, James Logan Lanier of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lanier and Elizabeth Doris Lanier; and his brothers, Daniel Lanier and William Lanier. He is survived by: his wife Tina Kirby Lanier; his children, Catessa Vines (Jason) of Chickamauga, Casey Newsome (Justin) of Chattanooga and Kacey House (Lee) of Sitka, AK; his sister Gladys Newman of Statesboro, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Caleb Mangrum, Trinity Holland, Kairi Newsome and Jameson Newsome. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel (555 W Cloud Springs Rd, Rossville, GA 30742). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
