He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Nichols and Thelma Geniva Porter Nichols; his grandson Jerry Wayne Walker; and his brothers, James Curtis Nichols and Kenneth Ray Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Nichols; his children, Karen Nichols Cronnon and Richard Shane Nichols; and his sisters, Debbie Abercrombie, Lillie Mae Nichols and Betty Rogers. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
