He was predeceased by: his parents, William Doyle and Gusta Tallant Matthews; his wife Mildred Eulene Plaster Matthews; his son Rodney Matthews; his grandson Christopher Reagan Matthews; and his brothers, Troy and Lloyd Matthews.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Walker (Edwin) of Chickamauga, GA; his sisters, Helen Goldman of Jackson, MS and Lynda Burns of Chickamauga, GA; his daughter-in-law Kim Spector (Barry) of Calhoun, GA; and his grandsons, Dylan Walker of Chickamauga, GA and Sam Walker (Demi) of Chickamauga, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Reagan Matthews Scholarship Fund at 105 Lee Circle – Chickamauga, Georgia 30707.
