It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Mayes of Chickamauga, Georgia, who passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John L. Ledford and Ruby Taylor Ledford; and her siblings, Geraldine, Judy, Glazier, Raymond, Leonard, Leon and Luther "Bud".
She is survived by: her husband Leonard "Sonny" Mayes; her children, Vickie Castings (Mark), Vivian Shoemaker (Mike), Tina Creek and Leonard "Trey" Mayes; her brother Lonnie Ledford (Karen); her grandchildren, Jeremy, Lauren, Sarah, Josh and Collin; and her great grandchildren, Isaiah, Katherine and Olivia.
