She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Shepherd and Lodean Flick (Smith); her siblings, June Pendley Freeman, Hazel Morrison, Don, Ronnie and Eddy Flick; and her grandson Bill Battreall.

She is survived by: her husband Bobby Brooks; her sister Joan Higdon of Kennedy Al; her children, Mike Shepherd (Neri) of Rock Hill, SC. and Sherry Bellamy (Russell) of Boonville; her stepdaughter Jackie Emmons (David) of Grayson Ga; her grandchildren, Anna Owens, Luke Shepherd, Alex Shepherd and Michael Felix Shepherd; and her great grandchildren, Aiden and Ella Battreall.
