He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Morton and Christine Morton; his siblings, J. W. Morton and Elizabeth Morton; and his granddaughter Tabitha Morton.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Morton; and his children, Vernon L. Morton Jr., Victor L. Morton, Michelle Cruise and Christy L. Morton. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
