He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hill Mercer and Levester Louise Justice Mercer; his wife Eunice Ann Hutton Mercer; and his brothers, Arthur Glenn Mercer and Clarence Eugene Mercer.
He is survived by: his children, Marc Alan Mercer (Andrea Laferriere) and LeAnn Mercer Rudeseal (Hoyt Anthony); his siblings, James Wayne Mercer (late Mary Stabler Mercer) and Barbara Ann Mercer Leveritt (Charlie); his grandchildren, Mallory, John Marc and Emily; and his great grandchildren, Jake, Blake, Beaux, Savannah, Addy, Hank, Hutton and Cora.
