The family announces the passing of George Randolph Burke of Clarkesville, Georgia on October 1, 2026. George, born on October 13, 1938, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Taylor Burke and Louise Holcomb Burke; and his siblings, Bobby, Ronald, Willard Burke, Florence Burke Wikle and Ann Burke Appling.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Burke; his son Dean; his daughter-in-law Cassi Burke; his brothers, Hugh (Hilda Burke) and Lee (Carol Burke); his sisters-in-law, Anne Burke, Doris Hill and Ruth Goss; and his grandchildren, Brooklynn Lucas and Braden Lucas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home (175 VFW Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home (175 VFW Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). The inurnment will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Habersham Cemetery (2780 Habersham Mills Rd, Demorest, GA 30535). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 3:15 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Habersham Baptist Church, 506 Old Habersham Mill Road, Demorest, Georgia 30535 or to Habersham Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 521, Clarkesville, Georgia 30523.
