He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Cowart and Lola Shook Cowart; and his siblings, J. C. Cowart and Frances Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Martin Cowart of Clarkesville; and his daughter Taecey Cowart of Clarkesville. He is also survived by one niece, several nephews, and many cousins.
