He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Elkins and Dorothy Elkins. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Gail Elkins; his children, Jerry Michael Elkins Jr. (Nicole Elkins), Julie Elkins Fowler (Greg Fowler), Cindy Tunnell Austin (Derrick Austin) and Jody Lynn Walters; his brothers, Stephen Thomas Elkins (Cathy Elkins), John (Judy Elkins) and David (Elaine Elkins); and his stepbrothers, Mark (Devone Gardner) and Paul (Debbie Gardner). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home (118 N Brooks St, Cleveland, GA 30528). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
