She was predeceased by: her parents, Artis Murphy and Fannie Mae Murphy; her stepdaughter Dornethia Evette Williams; and her brothers, Levon Murphy and Daniel Murphy.
She is survived by: her husband Johnnie Taylor; her stepchildren, Valerie Howe (Derrick) and Darrell Taylor; her grandchildren, James Howe, Jasmine Howe and Dominique Smallwood; her great grandchildren, Ashley and Adam Howe; her siblings, Wilson Williams (Mamie), Samuel Murphy (LaWanda), Frederick Murphy, Margie Thomas, Patricia Bacon (Bennie), Calvin Murphy (Barbara), Stevie Murphy (Tracie) and Jacquelene James (Ronnie); her aunt Edith Hendrix; her sister-in-law Annie Ruth Murphy; her nieces, Tia Tootle and Denise Kulowich (David); her cousin Mildred Wynn; her close friend Dora Lee; her caregiver Wanda Ruffing; and her nieces, Tayrn Harris and Wendy Arline. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harpers Funeral Home (125 Broad St, Claxton, GA 30417). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Historic Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church (1268 Mt Pleasant Rd, Claxton, GA 30417).
