She was predeceased by: her parents, Ennis Eason and Mattie Lou Eason; her husband Andy Hunt; her son Robert Mathis; her siblings, Charles Eason, William "Billy" Eason, Larry Eason and Judy Eason Haeger; her nephew Timothy Eason; and her niece Christina "Tina" Eason.
She is survived by: her son Christopher "Chris" Mathis of Claxton; her daughter-in-law Madelyn Rivera Mathis of McKinney; her granddaughters, Charlotte Mathis of Claxton, Tianna Mathis of McKinney, Khaleesy Mathis of McKinney and Xerina Mathis of McKinney; her siblings, Lenwood Eason of Glennville, LaJuan Eason of Claxton and Faye Eason Spivey of Claxton; her aunt Mildred Byrd of Pooler; and the father of her children Jim Mathis. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home (513 W Main St, Claxton, GA 30417). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
