He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlor Speed and Amanda Norton Speed; his children, Bessie Nesbitt, Jo Dunlap and Donnie Dunlap; his great grandchild Noah Owens; and his siblings, Bernece, Milton of Marlor, J. P. and Don.
He is survived by: his wife Mattie McDowell Speed; his daughters, Frankie Owens (Gene) and Amanda Chastain (Wayne); his daughters-in-law, Leta Dunlap and Melba Justus; and his son Mark Speed. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Hunter Funeral Home to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
