She was predeceased by : her father Hubert Newton; her husband Jean Yves James Sharp; her son-in-law Wally Weller; and her siblings, Rochelle Williams, Gladys Koch and Lawrence Walker of North Carolina.

She is survived by : her children, Gail Weller of Georgia, John H. Massey (Lou Ann) of Georgia and Pat Pruitt (Dean) of Georgia; her grandsons, Greg Weller (Kati) and Brad Pruitt (Lacey); her great grandchildren, Grady Weller, Rhett Weller, Hannah Pruitt and Austin Pruitt; and her siblings, Margaret Smith (Bob) and Earl Walker (Shirley) of North Carolina. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
