He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Smith and Marjorie Gass Smith; his wife Frances Johnson Smith; and his daughter Birdie Lynn Fensterle. He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Smith (Mindy Lockaby) of Blairsville, Michael Smith of Lansing, KS. and Butch Smith of Dunnellon, FL.; and his brothers, Grover (Janice Smith Jr.) and Willard (Rehette Smith).
