He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Butts and Pauline Purser Butts; and his siblings, Ruthie B. McCain, Sara Ann Butts, Sue B. Hall and Johnny Butts.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Butts (Ayer); his son Johnny Butts (Ginger); his grandsons, Ronny Butts (Becca), Cody Butts (Jordan) and Kyle Butts (Emy Smith); and his great grandchild Matt Butts. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mathis Funeral Home (151 E Dykes St, Cochran, GA 31014). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Mathis Funeral Home (151 E Dykes St, Cochran, GA 31014).
