With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Phillip Wimberly Jr. of Cochran, Georgia, who passed away on July 26, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Phillip "Bo", Sr. and Ila Horton Wimberly; his son James Phillip "Jim" Wimberly IV; and his sister Anne Holder (Jackie). He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Wimberly of Cochran; his children, Lee Wimberly (Kellie) and Lane Wimberly (Mary Lee) of Cochran; his grandchildren, Jim Wimberly (Brianna) of Cochran, Mary Lane Wimberly of Cochran and Anslee Wimberly of Cochran; his great grandchild Will Wimberly of Cochran; his nieces, Debra Holder, Susan Wilson (Brad) and Jenny Williams (Judd); and his pet Pumpkin.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mathis Funeral Home (151 E Dykes St, Cochran, GA 31014).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Longstreet Historical Methodist Church, P.O. Box 442, Cochran, GA 31014.
