With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linda Dykes Padgett of Cochran, Georgia, who passed away on June 12, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Linda Dykes departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Linda Dykes may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Linda Dykes leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Marion Dykes and Kathryn Crooms Dykes; and her brother Jim P. Dykes. She is survived by: her husband Wallace Padgett Sr.; and her children, Wally (Shellene Padgett), Marie (Greg Francis), Kay Struble of Baldwin, Paula (Danny Raffield) and Jeanne (Ben Lowry). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (101 SE 2nd St, Cochran, GA 31014). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Linda D. Padgett to First Baptist Church Cochran, 101 S Second St., Cochran, GA 31014.
