She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Newman and Martha Snell Newman; and her husband Ernest James Powell, Sr.. She is survived by: her son Ernest James Powell, Jr.; and her sisters, Charlie Mae Uzzell, Martha A. White, Jacqueline Frye, Mae Newman, Sandra Bolling and Charlene Hankins.
