He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton Clyde and Jessie Melton Childress. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Swanson Childress of Columbus; his children, Karla Stone (Rudy) of Leesburg, GA, Katherine Michael (Tommy) of Fayetteville, GA, Carlton Rhodes Childress of Bainbridge, Douglas Loran Fields (Michelle) of Sharpsburg, GA and William Patrick Childress (Niki) of Columbus; and his brother Eugene Childress (Deloris) of Covington, GA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
