We are sad to announce that, on October 23, 2022, at the age of 78, Brenda Lavender Porter of Columbus, Georgia, born in Summerville, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Lavender and Mary Jo Lipham Lavender; her husband James Freeman Porter, Sr.; and her siblings, Nancy Howard, Dorothy Hadaway, David Lavender, Mike Lavender and Weyman Lavender.
She is survived by: her son Reverend Dennis Lanning; her grandsons, Jimmy Porter, Keller Porter, David Porter, Benjamin Porter, Chandler Morgan, Carson Anderson, Canyon Anderson, Tristan Porter, Brendan Porter, Travis Hupp, Shane Hupp and Kip Mathews; her sons, James Freeman Porter, Jr. (Julia) of LaGrange, GA., Reverend Rodney David Porter (Kimberly) of Columbus, GA., Andrew "Drew" Martin Porter (Stacey) of Midland, GA., Reverend Derek Michael Porter (Jennifer) of Smyrna, GA. and Heath Arrington Porter (Jeannie) of Thomaston, GA.; and her sister Barbara Jean Lavender of Athens, GA.. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
