He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry David and Fannie Cole Blackburn; and his siblings, George and Francis. He is survived by: his grandson Columbus; his wife Ellen Pettie; his sons, Chris and Rick; his daughter-in-law Amy; and his granddaughters, Layna, Suzanna and Eliza.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Luke Church (1104 2nd Ave, Columbus, GA 31901).
