It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carla Kayleen Askew of Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald Leighton and Frances Anna Britt (Nash). She is survived by: her husband James Hoke Askew; her children, Brian West (Brad Willis) of Geneva, FL and Rev. Lauren West of Hazlehurst, GA; her stepdaughters, Joy Roberson of Franklin, GA, Julie Palmer (Jim) of Edgefield, SC and Nancy Knotts (Tony) of Lagrange, GA; her sister Janice Bodrick of Woodbridge, VA; and her nephews, Gary Brown of Fortson, GA and Kevin Brown (Kacey) of Columbus, GA.. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted, but those who wish may make donations to St. Mark Church.
