With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Dent Auten (Columbus, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 29, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James L. Dent and Nora Jones Dent; her husband Larry Auten; her brother James L. Dent, Jr.; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Hawfield and Delores Abernathy.
She is survived by: her children, Greg S. Auten (Lori) and Lori Moshier (Terry); her grandchildren, James Moshier of Columbus, Caitlin Moshier of Columbus, Christopher Moshier of Columbus and Alston Auten of Atlanta; her brother John Dent (Connie) of Buena Vista, Georgia; her siblings-in-law, Linda Dent of Columbus and Frank Hawfield of Myrtle Beach; and her caregivers, Bessie Harris, Desandre Jones (DJ) and Lottie Cannon. She is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul Church.
