He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Sullivan and Marcell Cowans; his grandmother Emma Howard; his wife Rose; his stepmother Lucy Mae Cowans; his son Brian Christopher "Chris" Sullivan; and his siblings, Rodney Jerome, John D., James Albert "Jackie", Hack Sullivan, Melvin, Claude, Marcell Cowans, Jr. and Kisha L. Cowans-Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Karen E. Sullivan-Hatten (Kayla) of Arlington, TX, Melissa S. Sullivan (Jermaine) of Columbus, GA and Adarryus R. Ellington (Angela); his stepson Brian Brown of Columbus, GA; his grandchildren, Bryan, Devon (Monique) of Aurora, IL, Christopher Nicholas (Marilyn) of Fort Worth, TX, Jamil (Chloe), Jordan (Akia) of Atlanta, GA, Bryson (Lexus), Amaiya of Columbus, GA, Kendall of Arlington, TX and Taylor of Columbus, GA; his stepgrandson Tyler Brown; his siblings, Anthony "Tony" (Leslie) of Bartow, FL, Willie of Bartow, FL, Ricky (Drica), Yvonne of Seneca, SC, Jennie Cowans-Rainey, Sandra Miles and Geneva Cowans of Anderson, SC; and his caregivers, David Lindsey and Bria N. Oestricher. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and special friends.
