We announce the death of Charles Edward Lawhon in Columbus, Georgia, born in Loudon, Tennessee, who passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Charles will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Charlie Lawhon of Loudon, TN.; his wife Betty Lawhon; his son Tony Lawhon; his grandson Ricky Shane Lawhon; and his brothers, Gordon Lawhon, Jack Lawhon and Johnnie Lawhon.
He is survived by: his sons, Charles Lawhon, Jr. (Tina), James Lawhon (Allison) and Ricky Lawhon; his grandchildren, Erica Lawhon Brasher (Johnathon), Samantha Lawhon McNeal (Braden), Kathy Lawhon Weihl (Eric), Tony Lawhon (Monica), Nicole Yancy (D. J. Yancy), Marty Milsap, Tiffany Milsap and Haley Milsap; and his sisters, Jolene Daniels and Mary Elizabeth Lanford. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus Fisher Chapel (4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
