He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Riley Mudge and Margaret Bellsnyder Mudge; his former wife Becky Mudge; and his siblings, Michael R. Mudge and Margaret Vaughn.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Elizabeth Rerrick; his brother Paul T. Mudge of Atlanta, GA; his children, Daniel John Mudge Jr. (Prissy) of Columbus, GA and Rebecca Danielle Mitchell (Tripp) of Columbus, GA; his grandchildren, Daniel John Mudge III, Rebecca Ann Mitchell, Hampton Mitchell, Morgan McCann and Collin McCann; his stepson Matthew Kirby (Victoria) of Manchester, NH; his stepgrandchildren, Averie and Maya; Ashton, Ella Grace, Cole, Madelyn, Dylan and Finn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in Dan's memory can be made to St. Anne Catholic Church in Columbus, GA, and/or Marist School in Atlanta, GA.
