He was predeceased by : his parents, Clara Register and Earl Register. He is survived by : his wife Darlene Register; his sons, Chris Register (Annie) and Steven Register (Beth); his grandchildren, Jackson, Cameron, McKinsie and Brooks; his sister Judy Cooper (Jim); and his nephew John.

Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA from 9:00 a. m. until 10:00 a. m. on Friday, August 7, 2020.

“I worked with Dennis at Midland Middle School. I remember one day I was talking to him about our students and we were both frustrated with how our students didn’t seem to take advantage of this opportunity to learn. He told me how he wanted so much more for his students because he valued each life. I knew then he had a big heart for his students. He was a kind man and a caring teacher.”
