He is survived by: his children, John Wesley Pirkle (Mary), Don Wade Pirkle (Holly) and Jennifer Pirkle Messner (Ryan); his siblings, Bob Pirkle, Truett Pirkle and Naomi Barnes; and his grandchildren, Hudson Pirkle, John Tyler Pirkle, Livi Messner, Parker Messner, Hunter Hartshorne and Lily Williams.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Zion Hope Cemetery.
