Franklin D. Bates Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on August 31, 2020, at the age of 75, Franklin D. Bates of Columbus, Georgia, born in Talladega, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lusell Williams Bates and Henry Arthur Bates; his siblings, Brunice, Gussie, Joseph and David; and his granddaughter Hannah L. Bates.
He is survived by: his wife Gail F. Bates; his children, Jeff J. Bates (Shana L. Bates) and Deana C. Cerbo (Hugo Cerbo); his grandchildren, Alyssa J. Bates, Cameron Floyd, Justin Floyd, Preston Floyd, Hugo Cerbo III, Enzo Cerbo, Paulo Cerbo and Elul Cerbo; and his sister Wanda Klimp (John Klimp). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, Striffler-Hamby Mortuary will be following the guidelines set forth by the CDC and Governor Brian Kemp to maintain social distancing for those attending the services.
