He is survived by: his children, Jim Busby (Ellen) and Dean Smart; his grandchildren, Angela Langston (John), Josh Busby (Gloria), Lindsey Ouattara (Cheik), Greg Busby, Christina Larson (Robert), Robin Smart, Doug Smart, Jr. and Jason Smart; his great grandchildren, Kiara Roberson, Kaleb Ouattara, Elyas Ouattara, Zoe Ouattara, AJ Busby, Chyra Busby, Elizabeth Hammond, Sierra Ferrell, Justin Woodall, Joseph Larson, Julia Smith, Rowan Smart and Ethan Smart; his great great grandchild Easton Burns; and his siblings, Basil Ellingburg, Daryl Busby and Jean Byars.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory (3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM at the Parkhill Cemetery (4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907).
