He was predeceased by: his father Avner Curenton; his wife Doris Juanita Watford Curenton; his daughter Shiela Head; his children-in-law, Kenny Head and Lisa Curenton; and his siblings, Joe Curenton, Hubert Curenton of David Curenton, A. J, Aaron Curenton, Veleta Driggers and Rebecca Caldwell.

He is survived by: his children, Shyrle Cunningham, Randy Curenton, Rhonda Meares (Thomas) and Regina Callaway (Michael); and his grandchildren, Cristy Cunningham, Michelle Page, Jennifer Bryan, Mandy Austin, Paula Bekon, Melissa Humphrey, Tammy Gregg of David Bosley, T. J, Meares, Brandi Cunningham and Michael Callaway, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
