He was predeceased by: his parents, John Howard Gause and Ida Mae Hodges; his wife Lucy Mandy Gause; his siblings, Evelyn Gause Hill and Henry R. Gause; and his half-brothers, Lester Mathis and Raymond Mathis.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Gause (Charlene Poole), Billy Gause (Janie Hill) and Lynda Gause Eldridge (Clinton). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31909. Make a donation to one of the following charities in remembrance of James A. Gause.
