She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Norris and Jeanne Norris; her husband Joseph Richardson Walters; her daughter Lenora Ashley Walters; and her brother Edward Norris, Jr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Jeanne Walters Mingledorff (Joel) and Laura Walters Byrd (William); and her grandchildren, Ashley Redding Byrd Allen (Thomas) and William Newton Byrd III. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
