He was predeceased by: his parents, London, Sr. Lias and Anna Tarver Lias; his siblings, London Lias, Jr., David Lias, Hosea Lias, Ruby Bualice and Carrie Lewis (Reese Lias); and his brother-in-law David Harvey, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Terry Lias (Erica), Gennie R. Hall (Stephanie) and Tracy Lias-Bailey (Herman); his siblings, Albert Lias (Annie), McDuffie Lias (Claudia) and Earlie B. Brundidge; and his siblings-in-law, Christine Lias, Juanita Harvey, Cynthia Cross, Gloria Richardson, Jacqueline Harvey (George), Jarrell Harvey, Albert Lewis, Sr. and Sherman Moore. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
