He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Barron Murphree; his parents, Eony Russell and Elma Nettie Scarborough Murphree; and his siblings, Dr. James Russell Murphree, Dr. Jerry Eony Murphree and Mollie Sue Murphree Jones.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Marie Murphree Sanes; his grandson Andrew Shayne Murphree; and his sister-in-law Helen Anderson Murphree. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Fisher Chapel (4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907).
