He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Woolbright; his sons, John Douglas Woolbright Jr. (Lee) and James Klinger Woolbright (Jennifer); his brother David Ernest Woolbright (Catherine); and his grandchildren, Jack Thomas Woolbright (Lexi), Amanda Woolbright Garcia (Zachary), Joshua Sikes Woolbright, John William Woolbright and Madison Leanne Woolbright.
He supported various causes, including The National Infantry Museum, Dancing Stars of Columbus for Alzheimer's Association, the Columbus Botanical Gardens, and the restoration of the original Upatoi Methodist Church.
