She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lee and Elvie Mote Cobb; her husband Henry "Hank" Simon Bernier; her son Charles Plowden, Jr.; her sister Ann Robbins; her niece Gaye McGriff; and her son-in-law Billy Massey.
She is survived by: her daughter Sonya Massey; her grandchildren, Lee Plowden, Alex Merritt (Kevin) and Catherine White (Mark); her niece Victoria Harrell (Adam); her close friend Linda Timmons; and her great grandchildren, Ezra, Willow, Rowen and Eli Merritt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory (3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
