We announce the death of Larry Gene Carpenter (Columbus, Georgia), who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 90. Larry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Seth Carpenter and Jewel Lucille Grantham; his son Larry Gene Carpenter Jr.; and his siblings, Bobbie Sammarco, Bill Carpenter, Foy Carpenter, Elsie Phillips and Linda Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Zona Gayle Pigge; and his siblings, Gary Carpenter (Judy) and Elaine Terry (Ted). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the McMullen Funeral Home (3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Dothan City Cemetery.
