She was predeceased by: her parents, Judge Olan A. Slayton and Elbertine Tompkins Slayton; her daughter Ellen Redden; and her sister Cecelia Slayton Erhardt. She is survived by: her children, Jay Slayton Redden (Kelli) and Amy Redden Veale (Stewart); her grandchildren, Hayden Redden Foxworth (Matthew), Anna Redden Pharr (Jim), Lillian Slayton Veale, William Walker Veale, Lyndsey Middleton (Will) and Dylan Collins; her sister Peggy Slayton Gindville; and her nephew Dr. Samuel S. Gindville (Melissa). She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
