It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Weldon of Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Martha may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her father Robert Lewis; and her sister Pamela Smith. She is survived by: her children, Nathaniel Coleman, Belinda Coleman and LaVarna Weldon; and her sisters, Bessie Lee Goode and Mary Ann Jackson (Claude). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of relatives.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sconiers Funeral Home (836 5th Ave, Columbus, GA 31901). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at the Green Acres Cemetery (1485 Schatulga Rd, Columbus, GA 31907).
